Suunto watches help the coach take completed workouts, sleep, and recovery into account when building your plan. Connection goes through the official Suunto service via OAuth: your Suunto password is not passed to 1trAIner and is not stored. Data is received only with your permission.
How to connect
- In your dashboard, open the Connections screen, find the Suunto tile, and select "Sign in with Suunto".
- In the Suunto window, sign in to your Suunto App account and allow access for 1trAIner. After returning to the dashboard, check that the status shows "Connected".
- Sync your watch with the Suunto App: new workouts will appear in 1trAIner after the next sync.
Suunto connection is currently open to beta testers. If there is no Suunto tile on the Connections screen, the connection is not yet open for your account.
Before connecting, read the consent text: it lists the data received and explains that brief workout summaries are passed to our AI-processing provider acting on our behalf. Details on how data is used are in the privacy policy.
What syncs
The set of metrics depends on the watch model and Suunto App settings: the service receives only the data that Suunto provides.
- Workouts: type, duration, distance, heart rate, and GPS track. They go into your log and are used for workout analysis; the GPS track is also needed for the Territory game.
- Sleep: duration, sleep stages, overnight heart-rate variability, and the sleep quality score.
- Recovery: body resources and stress level during the day — the coach takes them into account when assessing readiness.
Suunto notifies the service about new data itself after your watch syncs with the Suunto App, so workouts usually appear within a few minutes. On the first connection, your workout history for the last 30 days is imported.
Wherever Suunto data is shown, it is labeled "Data: Suunto". The label marks the source so it is clear where the metrics and workouts came from.
How to disconnect and delete data
In your dashboard, open the Suunto status on the Connections screen. The "Disconnect" button revokes access at Suunto and deletes the tokens: new data stops arriving, and data already imported stays in your log. The "Disconnect and delete Suunto data" button additionally deletes all workouts, tracks, sleep, and recovery data received from Suunto — this cannot be undone.
You can also revoke access in the Suunto App: Profile → Partner services.
If there is no data
- Sync your watch with the Suunto App and make sure the workout appears in the Suunto app.
- Check the Suunto tile in your dashboard: it should show "Connected". If the status is "Reconnect needed", sign in with Suunto again and allow access.
- If the data still does not appear, message the coach in chat: include the workout date and the connection status in your dashboard.
