Polar is the second source of facts for the coach alongside Garmin: the watch helps account for actual workouts and recovery when building a plan. Connection goes through Polar Flow via OAuth: your Polar password is not shared with or stored by 1trAIner.
How to connect
- Log in to your dashboard, open the account menu, and select "Integrations".
- Find the Polar card and click "Connect Polar".
- Log in to your Polar Flow account and click "Allow" to grant access to your data.
- After returning to the dashboard, check the card status: "Polar connected".
Before connecting, read the consent text on the card: it lists the data the service receives and explains that brief workout summaries are processed by our AI provider acting on our behalf. For details, see the privacy policy.
What syncs
- Workouts: type, duration, distance, pace, heart rate, heart rate zones, and GPS track. They appear in the journal and are used for post-workout review; the GPS track also goes into the "Territory" game.
- Sleep and Nightly Recharge recovery, including heart rate variability: data from the past night arrives after the watch syncs with Polar Flow.
- Daily activity, weight, and physical metrics: weight is taken from Polar Flow physical metrics, and VO2max and heart rate thresholds also come from there.
Wherever Polar data is shown, there is a label "Data: Polar Flow": in the journal, the workout card, and the image you can share. This indicates the data source as required by the Polar license.
What history is pulled in
The service only receives workouts synced with Polar Flow after connecting and no older than 30 days. Both conditions apply at the same time: having a recent workout in Polar Flow does not mean it is available for import. History from previous months is not imported — this is a Polar limitation.
Consents in Polar
To transfer data, you need to accept the required consents at account.polar.com. Log in to the same Polar account that you connected to 1trAIner, open the consent settings, and check that all required consents are accepted. Without them, Polar denies access and data does not come through, even if the connection is already shown in the dashboard.
How to disconnect
In the dashboard, open the account menu → "Integrations" and click "Disconnect" on the Polar card. The service revokes access from Polar and deletes the tokens: new data no longer comes in. Already uploaded workouts remain in the log until the account is deleted. You can also revoke permission at account.polar.com.
If there is no data
- Sync your watch with the Polar Flow app and make sure the new workout appears in it.
- Wait a few minutes: Polar notifies about a workout via webhook immediately after syncing. If the notification does not arrive, a fallback poll runs once every 6 hours — in the worst case, the wait will be up to 6 hours.
- Check the required consents at account.polar.com: without them, data transfer does not work.
- Check that the card in the dashboard shows "Polar connected". If the status is different, reconnect Polar.
- If the data still does not appear, write to the coach in the chat: specify the workout date and the time of syncing with Polar Flow.
