The route calculator is a separate page, 1trainer.ru/route-calculator; on the home page, the "Route calculator" item leads to it. It shows the route on a terrain map and its elevation profile. You can use it without signing in.
How to upload a route
- Open the calculator and choose a file in the "Route file (GPX or KML)" field. The file can be up to 8 MB.
- Optionally, enter a "Name", for example "Mountain loop".
- Click "Build route". If the KML file contains several lines, choose the one you need in the "Route line" field.
Once built, the route is saved to your history. If saving fails, a "Retry saving" button appears.
What the calculator shows
- Terrain map. On devices that support 3D, the map is three-dimensional; otherwise a 2D view opens. The "2D" or "3D" badge shows the current mode.
- "Elevation scale" — buttons ×2, ×3 and ×5, ×3 by default. They work only in 3D and change only the picture.
- The "Position on route" slider — where you are on the route, how many kilometres you have covered and the elevation at that point.
- "Total ascent" and "Total descent" — from the start to the slider point, based on real elevations without scaling.
- Elevation profile — a chart of elevation over distance.
The terrain is built from the Copernicus DEM GLO-30 model, the map from OpenStreetMap data. There is currently no time or pace calculation for the route.
"Known routes"
At the bottom of the page is the "Known routes" catalog with search by name: it shows the length and elevation gain of each route. The catalog is made up of user uploads. All uploaded routes are visible in the catalog, even if you haven't shared a link. Don't upload a track that starts at your home if you don't want to show it.
Share a route
- Click "Share" — a "View link" appears.
- Click "Copy link" and send it. The link opens without signing in: the map, slider and elevation profile are visible.
- To make the link stop working, click "Revoke link". You can then issue a new one with the "Create a new link" button.
Revoking affects only the link: the route stays in the catalog.
Download GPX
The "Download GPX" button saves the open route as a GPX file — you can load it onto your watch or into another app.
3D model for printing
The "Download 3D model (STL)" button builds a terrain model with the track for a 3D printer.
- "Long side size" — 200, 220 or 250 mm, 220 mm by default.
- "Terrain exaggeration" — ×2, ×3 or ×5. For a mountain route with an elevation difference of 800 m or more, the default is ×2; otherwise, the scale from the screen.
- "Roads" and "Water" — on by default. The model is designed for single-colour printing: water is recessed, roads are raised, and the track is the highest.
- "Economy base" — on by default: the model edges sit at 5 mm, while valleys and gorges go lower but are never thinner than 2 mm. Same terrain, less plastic.
- "Engraved label" — optional: a 16 mm strip along the southern edge with the route name (you can change the text), distance and elevation gain; the letters are recessed by 0.6 mm. Latin and Cyrillic are supported; the label skips Chinese characters and warns you.
Click "Build" and wait for the "Done" label. A preview of exactly the model you will download appears: you can rotate it and switch between "Plastic", "By colour" and "Map"; next to it are the dimensions in mm, the file size and an approximate amount of plastic and print time. If you change the settings, the preview rebuilds by itself.
- "Download STL" — a file for single-colour printing, named after the route and the model size.
- "Download for multicolour printing (3MF)" — the same model split into parts: the base with terrain, the track, water and roads. In Bambu Studio, PrusaSlicer or OrcaSlicer you can assign a separate filament to each part.
- "Download 3D model for viewing (GLB)" — a colour model with the map and the track for viewing on a computer or phone, including in Blender.
- "View in AR" — opens the model in a viewer; on a phone with AR support you can place it on a table at real size.

Guest routes are stored on the server, and access to your guest journal is tied to your browser. If you clear cookies, you lose access to these routes. Moving guest routes to an account is not available yet.
If something doesn't work
- "File is larger than 8 MB" — shorten the track or simplify it in another app.
- "Could not read the GPX" or "Could not read the KML" — check that the file isn't corrupted and upload it again.
- "3D is unavailable on this device" — the map opens in 2D, all the numbers remain.
- "Terrain unavailable" — click "Retry terrain loading": without terrain, the route is not saved.
- If there is no detailed terrain or map for the 3D model, a simplified model is built — the calculator will warn you about it.
- "Too many requests" — wait and try again.
