The area on the map isn't yours yet. You run a loop around the park — and the land inside the loop becomes yours. You run through a neighbor's section — you take that too. In the runners' ranking you move up to first place.

A half marathon of 21.1 km in 2 hours means an average pace of about 5:41 per kilometre. For a faster result it's important not only to build speed, but also to learn to sustain the effort throughout the distance. Over 16 weeks the plan builds gradually from your current volume rather than jumping straight into long runs.
In 1trAIner, the coach takes into account your level, schedule and experience with running for longer than you're used to. Data from connected Garmin or Apple Watch devices syncs automatically, and the plan is recalculated after every workout. If a long run leaves you overly tired, the training load that follows is adjusted.
First, regular easy running becomes the foundation, then time on your feet increases as readiness allows. On long runs you can test your nutrition, hydration and race gear in advance. Progress means more even effort towards the end of a session and recovery that lets you continue the plan.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a sports watch?
No. You can start without one: the plan is based on your goal, level, and available time. With a Garmin or Apple Watch, the plan can be tailored more precisely — the coach can see your heart rate, sleep, and actual weekly training volume.
